Description
Description
So whenever you're making your last sprint to the finish line, want to ride a time trial or triathlon as fast as possible, or simply stay ahead of your friends during your weekly Sunday ride, you'll love having the Giro Vanquish MIPS helmet on your head!
Technology
MIPSThe MIPS system consists of a low-friction layer between the EPS lining and the padding with an elastic fixation. This allows the helmet to move slightly (slide or rotate) during a crash. It will move around your head to absorb the lateral and rotational forces that could occur. This in contrast to a helmet without MIPS, which only absorbs the impact through compression of the EPS lining.
In-Mold Construction
The In-Mold Construction combines a strong polycarbonate outer shell with shock absorbing helmet padding. This fusion process allows for an improved ventilation system; as a result, In-Mold helmets are more lightweight and cooler than most traditional helmets.
Roc Loc Air fit system
The Giro Roc Loc Air system was specially developed for the Giro Aero helmets. This new system creates a small layer of air between your head and the helmet, so that the helmet floats just above your head, as it were. As a result air can flow over the top of your head, which ensures good ventilation. Just like the Roc Loc®5 system the helmet can be easily adjusted. The tension around the head and the vertical position can be adjusted using one hand. With this system, Giro is setting a new standard for helmet ventilation and comfort.
X-static Padding
Besides being comfortable, the X-static pads have anti-microbial properties to keep your helmet fresh for a long time. The pads are machine washable.

Pros & Cons
5 / 5
Comfortable Aero helmet.
Very comfortable helmet, is slightly heavier due to the MIPS but due to a good fit (is personal, of course) this does not bother me at all. During riding, the helmet ventilates well, with the cold days even too well, for hot days where there is a lot of climbing, I would personally choose a more open helmet because the helmet ventilates less well, until you make enough speed in the descent. Also put the helmet to the test during a crash test (at 40KMh). I ordered the Giro again after this accident.

Ottimo acquisto, resistente, pratico eccellente qualità.
È proprio ciò che cercavo per affrontare una prestazione impegnativa e importante e come l’Ironman.
Pros & Cons
2 / 5
Too expensive for the quality
I chose this helmet because, as a spectacle wearer, it still gives me a sunshade and allows me to see everything. I rode several hundred kilometres with it to my complete satisfaction. But after a few months I was in Luxembourg and during a descent at about 60-70 km/h I had to look back for traffic. In the process, the visor let go and it flapped up into the bushes on the opposite side of the road. Searched but untraceable. Giro says it's not due to the helmet. Yet I now read from others that the visor has come off. Still a shame because the visor is no longer available separately (sold out, which makes you think). All in all, an unsatisfactory result for this not cheap helmet.

Fine helmet, but fragile
Fine helmet in terms of fit. I use the helmet for triathlon races, among other things. A pity, though, that the competition stickers damage the matt layer on the helmet. Also, I already have a tear in the middle of the visor.
